📄 WhatsApp Template Management

WhatsApp templates must be approved by Meta under a designated category. There are three types:

Template Categories

  1. Marketing – Promotional messages to multiple recipients.
  2. Utility – Transactional or timely updates.
  3. Authentication – OTPs or verification messages.

How to Add a New Template

  1. Select a Category
    Choose between Marketing, Utility, or Authentication.

  2. Select a Language
    Choose the delivery language supported by Meta.

  3. Add a Header (Optional)

  4. None
  5. Text
  6. Media (Image, Video, Document, or Location)

  7. Add Body Content
    Write your message content using variables if required.

  8. Click "Variable" to insert placeholders like {{1}}, {{2}}, etc.
  9. Example:
    Dear {{1}}, your OTP for Burger Mart is {{2}}. Thank you, Team Burger Mart.
    • {{1}} = Customer Name
    • {{2}} = OTP

✅ Provide example values for each variable to assist Meta in template review.

  1. Add a Footer (Optional)
    Include brand disclaimers or any closing remarks.

  2. Add Buttons (Optional)

  3. Opt-Out: Allow recipients to unsubscribe.
  4. Call-to-Action (CTA):
    • Visit Website: Redirect to URLs (max 2).
    • Call Phone Number: Enable direct calling from the message.

Template Submission

Once complete:

  • Save as Draft: Save your progress for future edits.
  • Save and Submit for Approval: Send to Meta for review (usually approved within seconds).

✅ Post-Approval Actions

Once your template is approved:

  1. Preview – Ensure everything appears correctly.
  2. Edit – Modify content (triggers re-approval).
  3. Delete – Remove unused templates.
  4. Initiate Campaign – Launch a new campaign using the approved template.
